SMS & Transactional Notification Consent

1OR uses SMS and in-app notifications exclusively for time-sensitive surgical workflow coordination. This page explains how consent is collected, what the messages contain, and how the invite and Join1OR process works.

The exact consent language

I agree to receive transactional SMS messages from 1OR related to my account, authentication, surgical case updates, vendor confirmations, readiness alerts, cancellation/rescheduling notices, and other time-sensitive surgical workflow notifications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to opt out. I agree to the 1OR Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

This language appears as a small checkbox during the Join1OR process after you enter organization verification credentials (access code or invite details).

Where and when consent is collected

Consent is collected on the Join1OR screen after you successfully verify your organization (via access code or invite token). You must enter a phone number to receive operational alerts. The checkbox sits directly under the phone number field and must be checked to proceed with SMS-enabled registration.

Checking the box records your affirmative consent for transactional (not marketing) messages only.

How the invite and Join1OR process works

1. Organization verification
A facility, ASC, practice, or hospital admin creates or claims the organization. 1OR issues either a magic invite link or a controlled access code (e.g., RRA-7K29). The code is org-scoped, revocable, and has usage limits.
2. User arrives at Join1OR
You open the link or enter the access code + organization ID. The system validates the code against the organization.
3. Profile + phone + consent
You complete name, role, email, and phone number. The SMS consent checkbox appears directly under the phone field. Checking it is required to receive case-related alerts.
4. Account activation
Your account is created and linked to the organization with the correct role. You are now eligible to receive transactional SMS for any cases you are assigned to.
Examples of messages you may receive
“Your case at Memorial ASC (Dr. Patel, Total Knee) is scheduled for 07:15 tomorrow. ClearPath labs still pending. View in app: 1or.app/c/48291”
“Vendor confirmation needed: Biomet Persona implants for tomorrow 07:15 case. Reply YES to confirm or call rep directly.”
“Case 48291 at Memorial ASC has been moved to 09:30. Updated readiness status now shows 2 blockers.”
“SPD notification: Instruments for tomorrow’s case at Memorial ASC are ready for pickup.”
“Case 48291 cancelled by scheduler. No further action required.”

All messages are transactional and tied to active surgical cases or your account. Marketing messages are never sent via this channel.

Consent prompt during Join1OR

This is the exact screen users see after entering organization verification credentials. The checkbox appears directly under the phone number field.

Opting out or getting help

Reply STOP to any 1OR message to opt out of SMS immediately. Reply HELP for support contact details. You can also manage notification preferences inside the application after logging in.

Opting out of SMS does not affect your ability to use the 1OR platform via web or email notifications.
